Anil Agarwal meets Naveen and discusses Vedanta University

Chairman of the Vedanta Group Anil Agarwal on Tuesday met Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik at the State Secretariat and discussed about its proposed Vedanta University.

After the meeting, Agarwal said the proposed university would come up this year near the Konark-Puri marine drive. At the time of admission, Oriya candidates will be given preference, he added.

It may be noted that the proposed project would come up at an investment of Rs 15,000 crore. The university and its campus will be set up on 10,000 acre of land.

On being asked whether he had any discussion about its Lanjigraha Alumina project with the Chief Minister, Agarwal said he had discussed various issues with him.

He further said he did not final any opposition to his project at Lanjigarha and people at large are supporting the alumina project.
